About Debra Carroll

History

With offices in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and Alderley Edge, Cheshire I am a registered Guidance Practitioner. A graduate from the University of Huddersfield with a post graduate qualification in careers guidance. I specialise in career services for the under 25’s helping young people work out what is right for them by offering a fresh perspective on their skills and abilities. I work with clients who are making choices at school including selecting GCSE and A-Level options, further and higher education or first employment choices. I offer 1:2:1 impartial and confidential guidance interviews and on-going support throughout your time in full-time education right the way through to the launch of your career. I offer guidance and coaching with options including career interest questionnaires and psychometric assessments. As a member of the ICG I abide by the code of ethics which includes equality of opportunity, impartiality and confidentiality.

The Benefits of Private Careers Advice

The public funded support provided by schools and careers centres locally is generally good but may be only available at certain points of your education, and only for a short or single period of time, not necessarily when you need it. You may need more time to understand a wide range of options, you may have changed your mind (a few times), you may think you have no choices, you may not even know where to start! Most organisations just don’t have the resources or time to help you when you feel you need it. I enjoy working with young people, understanding them and helping them understand themselves.
